How to create a bass line
After you've chosen a chord progression that works, it's very simple to create a bassline. Just duplicate the track and delete all the notes except the bottom notes. Add you bass instrument or sample to this track.
Now, while this is a fantastic technique, or "go-to," for creating a bassline, striking a different note is frequently far more captivating and fascinating.
So, try entering the middle and top notes of your progression rather than the bottom note to see if that fits better or piques your interest more.
To achieve the perfect bassline, you can then try picking notes from the top and middle and combining them, even though it might not sound great all the way through.
This will undoubtedly create a progression that is more intriguing, captivating, and original than the standard.
Finding or figuring out your song's scale is all you need to do to start with the bassline. Start with the "root," or the first note in your scale, and alternate between it and the fourth note of the current scale.
Basslines frequently switch between the root note of the song and the "fourth" note (the fourth note in the scale), occasionally hitting the fifth note before returning to the root note to repeat the sequence.
So, just use this pattern to drop in an 808 and add some octave-jumps, then let loose.
